Chase as many failures as you can…

I learned something about Self Confidence today. I started a book by Amy Porterfield and in the chapter I am reading she is talking about Self Confidence.

She said, “Confidence is the outcome of taking that courageous leap; it’s what courage becomes, once you have enough proof and experience”.

And I really let that soak in. Courage becomes self confidence, I can get on board with that. But the next part she said, shook me.

“But the failures contribute too. Every time you crash and burn and get back up again, your confidence gets stronger”.

WHAT?!?! The very thing that we are so paralyzed by and don’t want to do IS the thing we need to do in order to build the thing we want to have?  Why didn’t anyone teach me this when I was a little?

Failure is part of the process and we should give it a big hug, embrace it and make as many mistakes that our courage will allow us to make. Bet on YOU! Take a baby step in courage and build your confidence to get that promotion, leave that terrible relationship, get a different job, start a business, make a new friend, the opportunities would be endless if we leaned on our courage instead of “mustering up” confidence we don’t yet have.

Chase down all the failure you can!

P.S. If you’re interested, the book is called Two Weeks Notice, by Amy Porterfield. No kick backs for me, just am really enjoying the book. Thinking about adding a page for all the books I love, let me know if you’d like to see that.
