What is a life coach?

Don’t worry, if you would have asked me 6-7 years ago, I wouldn’t have known either! I’ve always believed in and read everything I could about “self-help” and when I found coaching it was like a real life version of a self help book.

Honestly, I’d been looking for a Life Coach before they were a thing. When I went to college with the intention of becoming a Psychologist, I was hoping it would really be Life Coaching. I wasn’t interested in digging up my childhood or looking to the past to find answers (although there is a place for that kind of healing and I encourage anyone needing that type of care to get it), I was interested in finding a way to create the best human version of me. I wanted to get up every day and feel balanced and confident in myself and abilities. I was plugging along, but I knew there was so much more.

I lived a good portion of my life before I found a Life Coach, and her podcast, and her scholar program, but the moment I did, I knew this is what I had been looking for! I spent a couple years in a group coaching environment and I learned so much about myself, I changed so much about myself and decided to become a coach myself. I committed to a certification program because I have a deep desire to help others change their lives, find balance and do incredible things!

The basic premiss of what I teach is that your thoughts are your reality, they create your feelings, and your feelings prompt action OR inaction - those actions create the results you have in your life. You can change, and accomplish things you never thought possible, by just changing your thoughts. Sounds simple enough right, but application with a coach is the key to your success in making the necessary changes to find balance, meet goals and accomplish incredible results in your life.

I have more confidence today, than ever before. I trust myself to make quality decisions and continue to evaluate my thoughts to help me reach new goals. Did you know humans have about 70,000 thoughts a day? Roughly 80% of those are negative and 95% of those are on repeat! It’s no wonder that mind-management is an important skill to learn, and really should be available to us in early childhood.

It’s my absolute honor to help my clients learn new tools and techniques to achieve goals, make amazing decisions and and feel balanced, with a ton of confidence while doing it!

Let me know if you have questions, I’m happy to talk with you.

Much Love!

Chris
